My Fellow New Mexico DC’s,
It is with
a sad and heavy heart that I sit to compose this NMCA President’s
Report due to the untimely death of our president, Dr. Bob Dubin, DC,
a tireless professional for our profession.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve under Bob’s presidency
to help the Chiropractic profession and the NMCA grow and prosper. The
NMCA has made large steps to bring the availability of the chiropractic
profession to the citizens of New Mexico through Public Awareness Programs
as well as through Legislative actions. All this hard work has been
accomplished to make practicing easier and more profitable for you,
the New Mexico Chiropractic Physician.
Over the past 31 years of practice, it is getting harder and harder
to listen to other professional and non-professional groups and entities’
telling me/we what is best for our present and future patients and what
constitutes the practice of Chiropractic. The Advanced Practice Act
will give the profession, in New Mexico, the political and legislative
authority to provide the best healthcare possible to the citizens of
New Mexico. When the New Mexico chiropractic profession again regains
Primary Physician Status, all New Mexico DC’s will gain elevated
status as healthcare providers with the entities that control the health
care arena.
It is time for chiropractors to take control of chiropractic’s
future. What have you done to help move the Chiropractic Profession
into the 21st. Century? Join the NMCA, contribute to the PAC and participate
in the activities of the NMCA so you, too, can feel the excitement and
thrill of making a difference in your profession.
Dr. M. E. Brown, DC
President, NMCA
