MEXICO CHIROPRACTORS ARE APPROVED
TO DO SCHOOL PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS
The New Mexico
Athletic Association Handbook, Section IV ~ Athletic By-Laws states in Section
4.16, "Interscholastic Eligibility: Physical Fitness: The student must
be physically fit. This fitness must be based on a physical examination
of the student occurring after April 1 and must be verified in writing by
a licensed medical/osteopathic physician/physician's assistant or nurse
practitioner to the extent authorized by their practice act and licensing
authority. The physical is considered valid through the following school
year. The certificate of examination must be on file in the member school
office. This requirement applies to cheer/drill participants as well.
SBE Regulation No. 95-11, Section IV. A. also allows student fitness to
be verified in writing by a licensed chiropractaic physician to the extent
authorized by their practice act and licensing authority."
